Recently, I had an enlightening experience while listening to the 2nd episode of the newest season of the Pivot Podcast, which discusses major cultural shifts away from the voluntary association model.
It made me realize that while the church is not alone in facing the effects of these societal changes, we have sometimes placed other priorities above the core practices of the early church: listening to God and sharing our stories. Faithful storytelling has the power to bring healing from trauma, and now, especially in this post-pandemic era, is the time to dive deeper into these practices, not step away from them.
